Best shop for having tea and coffee. It is offering some sort of snack items too. There is no possibility to spend time with friends/ family since no space for sitting and would be little bit crowd at evening times.

Vellan kaappi serves only South Indian filter coffee, and that too real good taste. Location area and parking wise : It's one of the best filter coffee in RS Puram.Their filter coffee is really tasty and reasonably priced. It is a small outlet with a standing arrangement for around 10 people. There is no parking near the shop, you need to park somewhere nearby and walk here. The piping hot coffee is served with either with white sugar or palm sugar. I.e., It has two sugar options - Country sugar(brown sugar) , White sugar. Coffee costs Rs 25 per cup (actually served in a traditional brass davara and tumbler) I have really enjoyed the coffee, the brass Dabara set in which they offered coffee, the ambiance and the surrounding. This is probably the best cup of filter coffee you’ll ever have. Anywhere. Each cup packs in loads of flavors and distinct aroma, with the creaminess of milk and the sweetness of “naatu chakkarai” (jaggery). Having a piping hot coffee in the copper davara tumbler (copperware) is a vibe on its own! I recommend visiting in person rather than a takeout to get the complete experience.

Very small space - very busy corner in RS Puram. A coffee shop which attracts a huge crowd. Filter coffee with white or cane sugar, tea , lemon tea ...served hot and the quality is good. The only constraint is space and space for people and vehicle.

Simply Outstanding Coffee! I love this place. For me, Velan coffee shop @ R.s Puram is one of the must visit places in Coimbatore to catch a short coffee break. Now they are serving a few snacks as well like dal vadas & pakoras. The format is also very simple, just standing tables on a corner and coffee. Service is also very quick.
